WELCOME TO THE MEADOWBROOK THEATRE-IN-THE ROUND RESTAURANT
The Meadowbrook is the newest idea in the entertainment media, a “total evening out”, Dinner, Broadway show and
Dancing, all under one roof. The Meadowbrook has had a long, illustrious history. Long ago Frank Dailey christened
“The Meadowbrook”. Since then the Meadowbrook has been famous throughout America for music and fun-filled
evenings.
Our main dining room holds fond memories for those who heard the toe-tapping sound of the Big Bands. For in those
“good old days” folks dined and swayed to the tunes of all the big name bands such as Benny Goodman, the King of
Swing. And the sweet magical music of Glen Miller, the mellow trumpet of Harry James, Gene Krupa beating the
skins, that Sentimental Gentlemen of Swing, Tommy Dorsey, and his brother Jimmy, and oh, ever so many more. But
gone are the after-prom parties and gay Saturday nights when couples
clamored to get closer to the stage where Frank Sinatra spun his
enveloping web of hysteria, Joe Stafford, Les Paul and Mary Ford, Mildred
Bailey, Helen O’Connell and Ray Eberle to mention only a few. Then the
Big Bank ear vanished and it left us with pleasant tuneful memories. The
Meadowbrook walls still hold the echoes of all these fabulous figures.
And today the Meadowbrook brings you a tasteful dinner . . . two hours of
America’s finest musical comedies . . . and then dancing to the tunes of the
Meadowbrook Orchestra. A total evening-out . . . can one ask for more?
Charming décor of Victorian Music Hall has replaced the original interior of
the Meadowbrook. Myriad color portraits of famous stars surround you as you dine. Enjoyable moments are spent
touring our “Star Gallery”. Gleaming crystal chandeliers and wall sconces, rich red velvet draperies, and soft
carpeting all combine to bring you a feeling of elegance and relaxation. Our in-the-round stage is crowned by a circle
of lights under which Broadway’s and Hollywood’s greatest stars appear. Today’s Meadowbrook brings you so much
more . . . we hope you enjoy it.
